Muuto was founded in 2006 by Peter Bonnen and Kristian Byrge. The name Muuto was not chosen by chance. A glance at the dictionary tells us that muutos is Finnish for "new perspective".
Muuto's goal may therefore be clear: to make new strides in Scandinavian design. And they are succeeding with flying colours. Despite its young age, Muuto is known worldwide as the brand that provides fresh and cheerful design with respect for Scandinavian tradition.
Muuto's own team of passionate designers collaborates with contemporary designers who share the same vision. With an eye to the future, they continuously look for new and innovative ways to process materials. Attention to the role that craftsmanship and sustainability play without sacrificing comfort and style.
Muuto's designs are designed to evoke emotions. Walking into a room and feeling good. Knowing that an item can be elegant and soft in one interior and the loud statement in another. Items that make you feel at home and without which your house no longer feels like a home.
Sustainability and design are increasingly closely linked. Also at Muuto. So they have set themselves five goals to guide their work now and in the future.
